It’s official! Office Solutions IT is now 30 years old.

That’s three decades of keeping Australian SMEs productive, secure, and ahead of the technological curve.

We started from humble beginnings in James Sutherland’s garage and have grown into one of Australia’s most trusted Managed IT Services and Security Providers, with a powerhouse team of over 100 IT experts ready to assist you.

Our IT Milestones (1996 - Present)

Our mission is to create a positive impact with innovation and technology for Aussie SMEs. Here’s how we did it over three decades:

1996: Humble beginnings in James’ garage

A long time ago, in a garage far, far away…

OSIT began in a Perth garage with a simple goal: to help local businesses manage their office equipment, i.e. faxes and copiers, everyday office supplies. And as our clients’ needs grew, we added on-site tech support, network and system set-ups, and early-era IT deployments.

Back then, our goal was to make business technology simple, reliable, and secure. Interestingly, that vision still holds today, but with a renewed sense of dedication and commitment.

1998 – 2003

As our client base in Perth grew, our team expanded to seven members, and we established our first official office on Colin Street.

We also started building our support and engineering teams (a few of which are still in OSIT to this day!).

This expansion solidified our growth and allowed us to meet the increasing demand for network setup, on-site support, and communication solutions for SMEs.

2003 – 2006

We’ve been a proactive IT service provider before it was cool.

While break-fix IT dominated the 2000s market, Office Solutions IT pioneered the proactive Managed Services model in Perth, Western Australia.

From our West Leederville office, our team of 11 IT engineers and specialists delivered reliable, cost-effective IT services tailored to the needs of Perth SMEs.

2006 – 2013

As our team grew into double digits, we moved to a larger office in Wembley.

Then began providing IT services beyond Perth, covering areas like Bunbury, Mandurah, Albany, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, and other regions in Western Australia.

We’ve also started supporting various industries, including mining, legal, not-for-profit, construction, and professional services.

2013 – 2017

We moved (again) into a bigger office. And this time, on Hasler Road!

This is also the beginning of our cyber security era.

We integrated cyber security into everything we did, both internally and for our clients. We implemented advanced endpoint protection, provided proactive monitoring and maintenance, and offered client security awareness training, among other initiatives.

2017 – 2023

As our team grew from double digits to 100+, we had to move offices yet again. This time, it was in Gould Street.

We also opened a new office in Melbourne to better support clients in Victoria.

In this era, the cloud was all the rage. And as a Microsoft Solutions Partner since 1996, we helped clients transition to modern digital workspaces where they can get their work done whenever and wherever (all while securing their data).

We’ve helped hundreds of Australian SMEs with Microsoft 365, Azure migrations, SharePoint management, and cloud-first infrastructure, all with robust backup strategies.

2023 – Present

We are now in our latest location on Hasler Road, where our team of over 100 can enjoy a more spacious and comfortable environment (and a bigger warehouse). We’ve also expanded our operations with new offices in Sydney, Bunbury, Mandurah, and Karratha.

Today, we are recognised as one of the top Managed Service Providers in Australia by Cloud Tango. We have also achieved ISO certification in Quality Management and Safety Management. On top of that, we also became a Carbon Neutral Organisation and B Corp Certified.

With these certifications under our belt, we've enhanced our clients' resilience against cyber threats while maintaining our fast-response support and proactive IT services to help them achieve their IT goals.
