How long does the application take?

We encourage you to set aside 20-30 mins to complete the application form.

What information do I need to have for the application form?

We’ll ask you a few basic personal questions to get acquainted before picking your brains about the skills you have in your utility belt. So, it’s a good idea to have a list of any certs and qualifications you’ve completed to hand.

While fancy qualifications are good, we also want to know that you value the same things we do, so we’ll be asking you to share a little about yourself such as your goals, working style and your favourite flavour of zooper dooper. Ok, maybe not the last one, but we’d like to know what personality you’ll be bringing to the OSIT Family.

Do I need an up-to-date CV?

While a succinct and up-to-date CV would help us to get a great idea of your superpowers, it’s not a mandatory requirement for the application process. As an alternative, our application form will give you the option to drop in a link to your LinkedIn Profile.

Our recruitment team will assess your online application, skills and experience to determine whether we think you’re a good professional, technical, and cultural match for the role’s selection criteria. If so, we’ll contact you to schedule a 10-20 minute phone interview, so we can get to know you a little better and answer any questions you may have about the role.

When will I find out if I am selected for a phone interview?

In most circumstances you will receive an email or phone call advising you of the outcome of your online application within 7 days. Having said that, applications for our career opportunities can be overwhelming, so in periods of high volume it may take longer to get back to you.

Technical and cultural interview

Following your phone interview, if we are wishing to progress your application further, you will receive an email inviting you to schedule an interview with 2 members of our recruitment team.

Our interviews are competency based and while formal, you can expect a variety of cultural and technical questions that are designed to get an insight of your skillset and, more importantly, give you the opportunity to get to know us and discover if we are a good match for your personality and attributes.

Upon arrival for your interview, you may be requested to complete a short technical proficiency test relevant to the role. This is typically a multiple-choice questionnaire and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

What’s a Technical Proficiency Test?

This is a short multiple-choice quiz that asks you a range of questions relevant to the role you are applying for. The results of the test help us to isolate your strongest skills and match these up to the selection criteria for the role.

What type of questions will you ask during the cultural interview?

We want to know that you enjoy doing the same things that we like doing, and that you like working in the same way that we like to work.

After all, there’s nothing worse than an awkward match, so we’ll be taking the time to get to know you through a variety of fun and informal questions. Here’s a few examples.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

You’re welcome to bring along:

  • A copy of your resume
  • A list of references; and
  • A bunch of really good questions that show us you’ve done your research
How long is the interview?

Please allow up to 90 minutes for your interview, this includes the technical proficiency test.

Pre-employment checks

Before we make our final assessment on your application, we may contact your professional and character references to obtain feedback on your employment history and responsibilities.

What will you ask?

Our questions will consist of simple validation checks and situation-based questions where we invite your references to provide feedback on how you performed in a given scenario.

Will you tell me if you’re going to contact my references?

Yes, if we decide to progress your application, you will receive an email notifying you that we will be reaching out to your references. We’ll also flick you through a quick confirmation when we have completed our reference checks.

Does this mean I have the job?

Although contacting your references represents the final piece of your job application puzzle, our recruitment team will consider your original application, interviews, test results and references in full, prior to making a decision on your application.

Offer of Employment

After a full review of your application form, interviews, test results and references, our recruitment team will make a final decision on your application. Should we decide to make you an offer of employment, you will be contacted and presented with a verbal offer shortly followed by a written offer that will be sent to your email address.

When will I find out if I get an offer of employment?

Our recruitment team can take up to 7 days to assess your application in full. Having said that, applications for our career opportunities can be overwhelming, so in periods of high volume it may take longer to get back to you.

What happens after I accept my offer of employment?

Our recruitment team will be in touch to schedule an informal coffee at a café so you can meet your manager, ask questions and get to know each other prior to your first day. You’ll also be emailed a welcome pack, one week prior to your start date, that includes everything you need to know for your first day like, where to go, what to bring (and wear), oh and what cake to bring in… :)

What happens If don’t get an offer of employment?

We know there’s a lot of time and effort involved in applying for a new career, which is why if we choose not to proceed with your application, a member of our recruitment team will call you personally to advise you of your unsuccessful application.

Can I request feedback?
